Hey !
With a rank of 16k its difficult for you to get into top and reputed NIT's. You might get lower NIT's that too in branches other than Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics branches (like Metallurgy,Chemical Engineering,Mining etc).I will suggest you not to go with such branches. Please apply for some private universities like BITS, VIT, SRM, Amity or Manipal. If you are not getting admission in these colleges then go with some state level colleges.

Sorry to say that you cannot get nits even till round 7.
Even many new nits in north east even close at 8000 OBC rank.
You can try for IIIT Kottayam , Bhubaneswar,Bhopal
The cutoffs are very high .
So it's better for you to try top state colleges through JEE main score.
you should even try Thapar and Jadavpur University which have very good placements.
