Hello, I'll be appearing for jee 2026 and my question is about ews certificate. What's the right time to make EWS certificate and how long does it take from applying for it to receiving it. While filling up jee 2026 mains attempt which category i should select?

Hello,

Make your EWS certificate after 1 April 2025 so it matches the financial year 2025–26.
Most states take 7–21 days to issue it.

While filling the JEE Main 2026 form, you should select EWS if you belong to the EWS category.
You only need the actual certificate later during JEE Advanced and JoSAA counselling.
