Joint Enterance Exam aka JEE is an engineering enterance exams conducted for the admission to the various engineering colleges. JEE Mains is conducted after thhe 12 th exams mostly in April. clearing this you get a rank and on the basis of that you get admission into IITS, NIT and other government and private colleges. JEE Main is for those candidate who wish to get into BE or B.Tech courses. JEE Main comprises of 2 papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for those who wish to take BE and B.Tech courses, while Paper 2 is for those who wants to take admission in B.Arch or B.Planning courses. Students can select either one of the paper for JEE Main. Paper1 is an online and offline paper, whereas papar 2 is only offline paper.

Clearing Paper 1 of JEE Main with a certain cut off, you are eligible for JEE Advanced. It is conducted in the month of May. Getting a decent rank in JEE Advanced will land you a admission in IIT. JEE Advanced has 2 papers of 3 hours each. The marking scheme varies from year to year. The level of questions in JEE advanced is higher than the Mains and it has multiple correction options, matrix, integers and paragraph questions.

A student can sit for Main consecutively for 3 years whereas for advance one can sit for only 2 years consecutively. Mains test your memory whereas Advanced tests your core concepts.
