Hello,

Generally speaking the eligibility criteria for MCA is passed BCA/BSc/BCom or any other equivalent degree from a recognized university securing 50% aggregate or above, also mathematics as a subject at either 10+2 level or graduation is compulsory in most cases, so depending upon the institute you are considering for admission, you have to check out the eligibility criteria in order to see if you fulfill it or not, there are also options for open universities such as IGNOU regarding this which candidates from other backgrounds are eligible to apply, but it's important that you comprehend what are your career goals after MCA, since it's a deviation from your BSc Botany degree, what are the job profiles you want to target, even if you pursue MCA, will that be enough, what about the skills and experience, a person coming from technical background is definitely more aligned in terms of pursuing MCA course, so please think with clarity prior to taking any decision, one way to judge this can be pursue some short terms technical courses, today there are plethora of options in online mode that is MOOCs, and then take up internships, and see how you fare well, and then take decision accordingly.

there are other options also you can look out such as MBA as candidates from any background can pursue this course unlike MCA where there may be restrictions in terms of having studied mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 or graduation level, you can go for higher studies such as MSc and followed it by appearing for CSIR NET in life science, and become lecturer or there are SETs conducted at state level for the recruitment of assistant professor, in case of teaching in school, BEd is compulsory, you can appear for CTET or state level TETs, you can also pursue LLB, it's quite a good option. there are also government exams such as UPSC, state PSCs, banking exams of clerk/po, SSC CGL, Railways to name a few.

see as long as you fulfill the eligibility criteria for the exam you're appearing as in terms of your degree is valid, the university is recognized by ugc, you have the required aggregate(if at all that's required), it's perfectly all right, you're as deserving of getting the job as any other regular candidate, graduates from open universities may perhaps have this apprehension, but trust me you have to comprehend one vital aspect of these exams that is these are conducted at various levels, so you have to cross all these levels and then reach to interview panel, doesn't the fact that you have cleared all the level speak about your efficiency as a candidate who fit the job, definitely yes, and moreover interview process isn't only about what mode of education degree you have, it's much more than that, so accordingly you have to prepare for your background, city, education, other interests, you should be well acquainted with the latest happening, for instance if you're applying for banking, then you must be familiar with the banking scenarios, all the possible questions that may come from this domain, your basics must be clear, other than this just be confident, see the definition of education in 21st century has changed a lot, especially after pandemic there has been revolution in digital medium, and nowadays even you can find many graduates or post graduates working in top private companies, as the degrees are acceptable, and there are also exams such as SSC CGL which had scrapped interview, so don't worry regarding this, focus on the part where you can do well, eventually that's what matters.
