No, you cannot appear in NIFT exam while you're still in 11th. To be eligible to take the NIFT entrance test you must have passed 12th class from a recognised board or you must be appearing for 12th boards in the same year. Hence you're not eligible this year but will be eligible next year when you'll be in 12th.
