See if you are seeking admission in medical colleges of Maharashtra through Maharashtra state quota counselling then EWS reservation won't be applied there because till now EWS reservation is only applied in some central universities and AIIMS or JIPMER like central level institutions. In Maharashtra reservation categories are quite different from other states and the reservation quota for different categories of Maharashtra also varies from the ownership of college. For e.g. There is 13% reserved seats in government medical colleges of Maharashtra for SC candidates whereas the figure changes to 6.5% when it comes to private/un-aided institutions likewise for other categories. But for PwD category there is horizontal reservation of 5% across al categories and also there is female quota of 30% in government as well as private/un-aided institutions.
