In my opinion any category not mentioned as SC, ST Or OBC, there is a list for all of these categories, says the general category. You also need a certificate to prove that you belong to one of these three categories if you want reservation, in the general category no certificate is required.

You will not be required to present a proof for General Category in any of the counselling. This is because all students are by default, under General Category, unless they present a certificate for belonging to a reservation category such as GEN-EWS, SC, ST, OBC etc.
