according to me , academic background does not matter alot if you have a good score in CAT so now work hard on your studies and try to score good marks for getting admission in TOP B-school

It all depends on the college. While some colleges do not consider past academics, some put a certain weightage on past academics. All the best.

Yes, these scores do matter when a student's profile is considered. But that is the case only in top IIM's.
Whereas, in other colleges so much importance is not given to student's profile.
For MBA, CAT holds the highest weightage. If you score pretty well in CAT, you will surely get a call from a top notch college.

This score definitely matters , good iims give points to u on basis on 10th , 12th and graduation marks . Plus the cat marks .
Other colleges though doesn't give points but do ask the reason for such marks in lower classes in interviews .
