Yes,it is mandatory to attend foundation course.Now rules are changed, from first year itself you will be having practicals.

Foundation course has been conducted for getting an idea on course system rather then jumping directly to the syllabus.

To construct a building its very important to have a foundation right.It's even in the same concept.

Better attend Every class in your five and half years of course rather then skipping them It will help you in getting more experience.
