If you want to become a software engineer, then definitely btech is the best choice, however there are some other courses also to become the software engineer such as bca, bsc, diploma holders etc. But btech is given more prefernce than all these courses. You can apply for job directly after your btech. But if you wish to study further, then you can go for MS course, mtech or mba.
