If depends on the institute of organisation or on you if you want to take hostel you can but if you didn't want to take hostel then it's upto you but can you specify the organisation or institute so the answer can be more clear.

The Question is not in detail, but the decision to stay in a hostel is a personal choice  that is determined by a number of factors, thus no one is required to do so. Yet, there are few institutions who suggest or make a condition to stay to give Quality Education. It varies on Institution and terms of Colleges.
