Dear Candidate

I hope by free seat you mean, seats falling under TFW Scheme, i.e. Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme. Yes, even being a general category candidate, you can apply for TFW scheme. This scheme is prepared after keeping candidates from the economically weaker section in consideration.

As per the rules, 5% of the seats in engineering and pharmacy courses offered by all AICTE approved colleges, may it be government or private have to reserve 5% of their total intake for TFW candidates. The admission on these seats will be done on the basis of merit.

The rules state that a candidate whose parents' income is less than 6 lakhs they can apply for these seats.

To apply on these seats in either government/self-financing colleges, including CHARUSAT University, Petlad, you will need to submit a valid income certificate issued in the name of your father (in case of father is not alive, in the name of mother) from either ‘Mamlatdar’ or ‘Taluka development officer’ or Collector (Jan Seva Kendra) at the time of registering for admission.

Hope it helps! All the best!
