Fashion Design Internship: How to apply

Students can apply for internships by sending a request letter along with their CV to the designers and companies of their choice. However, the best way to secure an internship would be to contact the placement and training cell of your respective colleges to know the internship opportunities you may have for yourself.

Selection process & duration

For under-graduate course in Fashion Design, the process of interview/selection starts in January while for the post-graduate courses, it happens in the month of May.

The duration of most fashion design internships is two months.

Fee & stipend

Most designers as well as design houses offer internships to fashion design students absolutely free of cost. On the other hand, students are paid a monthly stipend during their internship.On an average, designers pay around Rs 2000 to Rs 3000 per month to fashion design interns. However, this varies from designer to designer because some of them even pay up to Rs 5000 per month to students during internship.
