Hello ARMS,

For getting admitted to AKTU, you will have to qualify UPTU now UPSEE i.e. Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination. This Exam is organized by the Abdul Kalam Technical University for the entrance of students in the respective universities. The exam was scheduled on 21st April so now you will have to wait for another year to appear for the exam if you haven't cleared it this time.

Based on your marks and rank in this exam, a process similar to JOSAA is initiated and you are asked to appear for counseling of UPSEE. You will have to choose your branch and college according to your rank.

This is how you get into a college under UPSEE. Finally, after choosing the college, you complete your degree, and then the degree you get will be from Abdul Kalam Technical University. Colleges that fall into this category are IET Lucknow, KNIT Sultanpur, KITE Ghaziabad, Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj Kanpur, Bundelkhand University Jhansi... and many more. Since the past 2 years, many good colleges under UPTU, have opted to leave the AKTU, and they offer their own degree. Colleges such as HBTI Kanpur, MMMUT Gorakhpur, etc... fall to this category.

They have their own entrance exam while some accept your JEE main score and admissions are based on your JEE main Ranking. 

You can get into private colleges such as KITE, JSS, etc. these colleges will provide you the degree of AKTU, and you get admission based on your low JEE main score as well. Also, they consider your board marks.
