how can i study SOM?SOM is so hard...

Hello Omkar,

I would tell you to study smart than hard as you don't have many days left for you SOM paper.

Here are some important questions that are are high chances of coming so i woudl suggest you to do them.

Questions:

  • Expression for strain energy due to gradually applied axial load.
  • Assumptions in theory of pure bending.
  • Draw shear force and bending force diagram for beam loaded(Figure would be given)
  • Relation between SF,BM and rate of loading.
  • Sum to find stress proudeced in steel and concrete.
  • Sum to calculate total decrease in length of bar.
  • Sum to calculate external diamater.
  • Sum on Euler's formula
  • Sum on Area of core section for rectangular section
  • Determine maximum sheer stress from the support.
  • Sum to calculate diameter of beam required.
  • Sum to find magnitude.
  • Sum to find stress at each corner
  • Sum to determine diamater of shaft.
  • Sum on change in dimension of shell.
