Hi

While preparing for COMEDK UGET 2018, follow the steps given below:

Segregate the syllabus into 3 parts – topics you know, topics you know but are not sure about and topics you dont know at all.

Start with the ones you already know then move to the ones you are not sure about and finally start studying the new ones.

Try to study daily. Skipping a day or two can force you to restart from the scratch.

Make formulae book and notes and read them aloud to yourself for better remembrance.

Practice previous year question papers online at regular intervals and note down your weak areas. Also, this will help you increase your speed, efficiency and time management skills.

Work on your weak areas and better them with time.

Appear in the exam will all the confidence in you.

I would recommend you to start preparing for the exam as soon as possible as you must be knowing that only 6 months are left for the entrance exam to be conducted.

All the very best!

The most important thing while you commence your preparation for COMEDK UGET 2018 is to know the syllabus from where the questions will be asked. This will help you to devise a strategy as to how much time you need to spend on each topic, depending on your strong and weak areas as well as the weightage that is given to the topics.

Draw a clear Cut Time Table – Since the exam is tentatively conducted in second week of May 2018 and usually the questions are from the plus +2 level, you can simultaneously prepare for your class XII exam as well as the COMEDK exam. Your aim should be to finish the complete syllabus by mid November 2017. When I say complete the syllabus by mid-November, I mean that you should be thorough with the syllabus and be prepared to answer all kinds of questions. Once the syllabus is completed, start solving sample question papers and the past years question papers. Identify your weak areas and work on it. From December onwards , you should be solving the question papers of past years and in February, when the authorities release the mock test, there is need for practicing it. You should follow the saying, “Practice makes the man perfect.” Hence , whatever you know, apply that knowledge in solving questions.

Know the syllabus of COMEDK- For your reference, I am briefly giving you the topics under each subject, which you must prepare as you aspire to appear for the COMEDK entrance exam. These are the main topics that I am mentioning.

Physics- Heat and Thermodynamics; Oscillations; Motion in One Dimension; Motion in Two and Three Dimension; Thermal and Chemical Effects of Currents;

Chemistry-Coordination Chemistry; Nuclear Chemistry;Chemical Reactions and Chemical Kinetics;Biomolecules;Polymers; Environmental Chemistry; Chemistry in Action;

Maths-Matrices and Determinants; Probability; Circles; Differential Calculus;Integral Calculus; Vector Algebra; Three Dimensional Geometry; Differential Equations;

Revise thoroughly what you studied- From December 2017 onwards, you should revise whatever you have studied till now. Revision should be once again very thorough and while revising , prepare short notes or flash cards so that the last month before the exam , you merely have to go through these short notes and you are able to recall everything.

Certain guidelines for the exam day- While appearing for the exam, remember that you will have to answer one question in one minute, which means that you should be so thorough with whatever you have studied that as soon as you look at the question and the answer, you know immediate;y what is right and what is wrong. I would suggest that first answer the relatively easy questions.

In the end I just have to say one thing and that is to remain focused through out your course of preparation and adhere to the deadlines which you have set for yourself.
