Absolutely JU is one of the best universities for BSc after presidency, St. Xaviers however there's a lot of politics going on in JU if that may be a matter of concern for you.
Apart from that in all terms JU is undoubtedly good.

Jadavpur University is quite a well known University in the country for the various courses  it offers. Bsc chemistry there is quite good. I think you should consider joining it.
