KIT is one of the oldest colleges in Kolhapur and surrounding area. It was started in 1983, initially offering 4 streams- Electronics, Civil, Production and Environmental.

Earlier affiliated to Shivaji university, now the college is autonomous. No other college offers Environmental Engineering for Graduation.

The college now offers 9 streams. The beautiful campus is spread across 27 acres equipped with a modern library, computer labs, playground and hostels. Located outside Kolhapur city on NH4 provides easy ingress and egress.

The college has good placement record. A lot of students have pursued MS abroad, some hold strong position in the nearby industrial area. The college has MoU with various other universities and companies.

Besides the college, Kolhapur is a beautiful city with pleasant climate and plenty of options to cater your taste buds, scenic locations to visit nearby, and great connectivity to Pune, Mumbai, Konkan, Goa and Karnataka.
