The life of an IOCL officer or an engineer depends whether he is working in which department.

Since IOCL has several dept. so if you are working as an A grade officer then your pay will be good and you will be also leading a good life.

There are various dept. in IOCL:

• Refineries division
• Pipelines division
• Marketing division
• R&D division
• Petrochemicals division
• Exploration & production division
• Explosives & cyrogenics division

Hence life depends on which dept. are you working.

But overall you will work on different projects sometimes for industry or sometimes for the R&D dept.

IOCL is one the best PSUs out there, it was even in the fortune 500 list in 2016. IOCL has prescence in every corner of the country, you would have postings in different parts and you would get a chance to travel a lot of places.

Workculture is good in IOCL you would be treated as a high level officer, you would have an office like life and would get to use your chemical engineering knowledge here.
