India has 542 Medical Colleges teaching MBBS course out of which 273 are government colleges with a total number of 41,480 seats. Among 41,480, a total of 6,222 MBBS seats available for all India counselling which accounts to 15%. Candidates can also take admission on merit basis in any of the state medical colleges of their choice whose annual fees range from INR 6,020 (Meghalaya) to INR 4,26,500 (Uttarakhand).
