Let me clear you one thing that all the government engineering Colleges in UP or in any other states will intake the candidate's either through JEE mains or JEE Advance , there are few colleges only in UP which will take their own entrance test like :

• Aligarh Muslim University, AMUEEE

And many institutions will intake the candidate's via UPSEE like

• Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology
• Bundelkhand Institute of Technology
• Institute of Engineering and Technology
• University Institute of Engineering and Technology , Kanpur.

yes, there are government colleges will accept other entrance exam's marks than jee mains,such a STATE GOVERNMENT exams are,

• MHT CET
• WBJEE 
• OJEE
• NEST
• CUCET
• ISI
• NDA

depends on these exams, the government collges will have their admissions.

Every state government takes their own government entrance exams for all colleges of their state . For collleges under the central government , all India based exams are held.
