Hello Aspirant,

Cut off changes every year and depends upon several factors like number of students appeared for the exam, number of seats available, difficulty level of questions, previous years cut off trends, etc.

This year NTA has released the cut off percentile for jee main and are as follows:-

Common Rank List (CRL):- 90.3765335

GEN-EWS:- 70.2435518

Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL):- 72.8887969

Scheduled Caste (SC):- 50.1760245

Scheduled Tribe (ST) :- 39.0696101

PwD :- 0.0618524

Dear student,

Different categories have different passing cutoff for jee mains.

This year the cutoff was :-

Common Rank List (CRL):- 90.3765335

GEN-EWS:- 70.2435518

Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL):- 72.8887969

Scheduled Caste (SC):- 50.1760245

Scheduled Tribe (ST):- 39.0696101

PwD:- 0.0618524

Now, if you are asking about marks then, if your secure a marks of 70 to clear the cutoff for general category.
And if you secure the cutoff marks for general category then you can easily get qualified from any category.

But note that only qualifying the examination will not help you to secure seat. You must secure ranks, and for that you must secure above atleast 96 percentile score for sc/st. And above 98 percentile for general category to get a sure seat in nits or iiits.

Dear aspirant,

There's no factor like you need to pass. There's a cutoff percentile that you need to achieve to be eligible for JEE advanced. As per previous year data the cutoff percentile for General Category was around 89. For that you need to score above 70 marks.

Hope it would be helpful.
