to get an admission in nit you should have atleast 75% in 12th board conducted by the perspective board exam

and for general category you need to score more than 250 marks to get into any nit so that you can get admission in top ranked nit

The qualifying cutoff for JEE Advanced exam is different from the cutoff marks required to get into an NIT (joSAA counselling).THe cutoff marks will also differ based on the engineering stream and the corresponding college.Like the CSE,ECE and Mechanical branch seats get filled up first and therefore requires more marks and thus have high cutoff.The cutoff for different b.tech branches in different NITs is given in the below given link:
