Hey Prit
Normally, the cutoff score for qualifying for JEE Advanced is around 100/360 ( for general category students) and around 2 lakh students qualify . So,roughly speaking,a score of 100 gives you a rank of about 2 lakh.
It also depends on how high you are aiming. If you want to go for NITs situated in the north east,a score of about 130–140 will be enough but if you are eyeing top NITs like NIT Trichy, you better rock the show and get 270+.Also,the cutoffs for IISc are insane, and usually about 290+.
One more thing, there is a home state quota for the students of the particular state.Due to this reservation of seats,a student of home state has better prospects of getting a seat than an outsider.
Well IIT's do have higher cut offs and mainly the top IIT's such as IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur or IIT Madras. So in these IIT's different branches like civil, electrical, mechanical, computer science have different cut offs. For admission to these IIT's you should score a rank in between 3-4k so to aim high get a rank below 3k so that you may assure a seat here.
Hello student,
The answer to this question is not absolute. It depends on a number of factors. Normally, the cutoff score for qualifying for JEE Advanced is around 100/360. So if you get 100 marks in JEE Advanced, you will get a rank of about 2 lakhs. If you want to go for NITs situated in the north east,a score of about 130–140 will be enough but if you are eyeing top NITs like NIT Trichy, you must get 270+. Likewise for a good rank in JEE Advanced, you need to score atleast 40% of the max marks (160 out of 400). So for IIT you need minimum 50% marks in JEE Advanced.

Hello Prit Dholariya.
I would like to inform you that in order to get NIT , you need to score 150 or more, and if you want some of the top NITs then score at least 185 to 190 or more. If you are targetting for IIT, then you will have to score at leat 55 to 60 percent marks and should have passed the cutoffs for each subject.
