Students who are allotted a seat have to confirm the seat by login.

In JOSAA you will get three options-

Float,slide,freeze

Float option - If you got a seat in Josaa ,and you are not satisfied with your current seat then you can go for float option. According to your rank ,your choice can upgrade in the upcoming rounds . Else you can continue with your current seat.

Float option is simple to understand

Let you jee rank is X and you got a seat in 1st round of counseling . Now after first round if someone whose rank is above X withdraws his/her seat from counseling and you have that option in your priority list so there is a possibility that you can get that seat. Generally if we are not satisfied with our current seat then we use float option to get better seat.

There are total 7 rounds of JoSAA this year.

So, You can use it for a total of 6 times but you haven't have to go to reporting center after each round. In first round if you opt for float until you go to RC and choose to freeze it, it will float in further rounds.

Slide option -Same as above ,but here college remains the same as you got in that round, only branch upgrades according to your filled choices.

Freeeze option - It means you are satisfied with your current seat, and you are accepting it.
