In physics, there are two types of optics -

• Physical Optics
• Geometrical Optics

Physical Optics deals with the study of phenomenon like Diffraction, Interference, Polarization, etc. Here studies are done taking inn consideration the wave theory of light, that is light

Geometrical Optics deal with the study of images and at what distances they are formed by mirrors or lens either convex, concave or plane. Here basically reflection and refraction is studies without taking the wave theory of light into consideration.
