IMA provides training to its cadets who have passed the written exam and the AFSB interview. All the candidates have to undergo a training of 12 months which is world class in nature and then the candidates get the commission.

The academic year is divided into two terms, viz. Spring (Jan. to May) and Autumn (July to Dec.). A cadet must undergo training for a total of six terms before graduating from the NDA.
