Medical college admission in india is based on pmt marks and rank. You must have a minimum of 50% in class 12 (for general category) 45% for obc and 40% for sc/st. This is just a qualifying criteria and you will not get seat through 12th standard marks. However some states like tamilnadu offer you admission through your 12th marks. But there too the cut off is very high. You must have a MINIMUM of 99%(again general category) in your bio phy chem combined marks in order to get admission in a medical college. So its wise to prepare for aipmt and other medical entrances.
