Let's clear the difference between Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Information Technology (IT) branch.

CSE deals with computing, processor designing, personal and supercomputer to circuit design and writing software as well as robotics research. Computer Science Engineers need to master the computer theory and mathematical algorithms that are important to write code and develop innovative computer hardware, software programs, and operating systems. The main work of CSE is to develop complex algorithms and write codes.

IT deals with use of electronics computers and computer software to store, protect, process, transmit and securing relevant information. The IT work includes using computer systems, software, and networks to process and distribute data as well as find technological solutions for business needs by adapting, deploying, and maintaining the operating systems and programs

There is surely a good difference in thier syllabus.

1. Subjects of IT includes Multimedia Applications, E-commerce and ERP, Data Structures, data warehousing and data mining, etc.

2. Subjects of CSE includes Operating System, Database Management Systems, Automata, Language and Computation, etc.

3. Few subjects of both IT and CSE are Engineering Mathematics and some programming languages.

It's that you need to do more coding in CSE as compared to IT. We can also CSE works as backbone whereas IT manages everything.

IT graduates are recruited by TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, HCL, Info Tech, IBM. They are also in demand in public sectors and fields including finance, arts, medicine, defense.

CSE graduates are recruited by all software engineering companies building any type of software product. Major recruiters are Google, Amazon, Facebook, Infosys, TCS, etc. CSE graduates become software engineer, software developer and computer programmers.
