Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is its full name. BAMS is an undergraduate degree program created to familiarize students with Ayurvedic principles and teach them how to apply them to patient care. As part of the course curriculum, students in the BAMS program are taught a combination of both Ayurveda and modern medical theory.

The annual cost of the BAMS course is between 20,000 and 3,000,000.
