Well in AIIMS scoring is good but the allotment is done on the basis of percentile. 

Two sessions of AIIMS is organised, one in the morning and one in the evening. Accordingly two percentile cut offs are released and then the allotment is done.

Percentile shows the percentage of students who are behind you or you are ahead of what percentage of people 

Hence, aim to score as high as possible to be in the top percentile range of students.
