Hi aspirant,

Dhanpat Rai Srivastava better known by his pen name Premchand is a Indian writer who is considered as the revolutionary body in Hindi and Urdu novel category. He got widely famous due to his fictional characters in the various novels and their dialogues. Godan the book which is considered the Bible of Hindi literature, brought revolutionary change in the fiction stories. Characters like Heera, Dhaniya, Gori etc with their dialogues which were written in the context of rural local people got lot of appreciation. He also used to write the complete conversation between the two peoples like a normal life scenario. He used to write on several social issues and evils in the society which covered topics like landlordship, widow remarriage and exploitation of farmers in such a way that people were compelled to imagine that the same is happening in front of their eyes.
