Yes, It is a field for a biology student.

In biotechnology substantial preference is given to biology and if u had maths in your 12th class then there is not a big deal. As a maths student, u just have to clear some basics on your own and don't worry your basics will clear in a short interval of time.

In your first year of college, there are so many different subjects which are hardly related to your field and you will also study Mathematics which is of 11th and 12th but from 3rd semester onwards u will get your core subjects ( such as Biochemistry, microbiology, genetic engineering etc)

There are so many entrance exams that you will give to pursue B.Tech Biotechnology from a good college.
