To become IAS officer you need to first complete your graduation because the minimum eligibility criteria for appearing for UPSC civil services is a graduate.this does not mean that you should start preparation after your graduation because there exist a lot of competition and it is better if you plan early.
The total number of intake for IAS is very less around 100 per year. The exam is conducted by UPSC which is a constitutional body and exam frequency is one year.
The exam consists of three stages first is prelims followed by mains and only those who qualified mains are allowed to appear for personal interview.
