Hi aspirant,
Density of water is equal to the Mass of Water divided by Volume of Water that is d=M/V. It is generally expressed in terms of gram per centimetre cube or Kg per metre cube. For pure water Mass and volume of water is same that means density is unity.
Hope it helps!
Hey,
Hope you are doing great.
The formula for density is d= M/V, where d is density, M is mass, and V is volume.
Density is commonly expressed in units of grams per cubic centimetre.
For example : the density of water is 1 gram per cubic centimeter, and Earth's density is 5.51 grams per cubic centimeter.
Density can also be expressed as kilogram per cubic metre ( in metre- kilogram - second or SI units).
Hope this helps you.
Question : Specific gravity is defined as the ratio of
Option 1: density of the substance to the density of the water.
Option 2: density of the substance to the density of the water at 0oC.
Option 3: density of water at 4oC to the density of the substance.
Option 4: density of the substance to the density of the water at 4oC.
