Academically, both the institutions teach you the same(to follow the textbooks as per the syllabus).

Now, the advantage comes to play depending on the department you want to compare. It also depends on the current faculty in that department and the kind of research(if any) going on.

Placements pretty much look the same for an average student in both the institutions but I would rate CBIT little high when coming to the extracurriculars(again, this depends from person to person as we need to take charge of what we want to do in those years of college).
