Hello. The Common Admission Test or CAT is one of the entrance exam of India for MBA which is taken by around 2 lakh candidates every year. IIMs conduct CAT every year for admission to 20 IIMs and over 100 B-schools across India. Around 4,000 seats are offered through these 20 IIMs for various post graduate management programmes.

The application fee for General and NC-OBC is ₹1900 and for SC, ST, PWD it is ₹950. 

The exam consists of both MCQ and non-MCQ type questions. The syllabus would be questions from Verbal Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation. You can refer to various books available in the market for your CAT preparation.

The cutoff varies for different colleges. You need to clear the cutoff for each section and also the overall cutoff to be able to get shortlisted by the participating institutes.

Last year the exam was conducted on November 25th and the admission process is not yet completed. The official notice for CAT 2019 will be released most probably around July-August. We will update you as soon as we get the dates about the application form for CAT 2019.
