Hello Aspirant,

Although Hotel Management does not provide a direct career path to the Merchant Navy, you can join in hospitality roles on board cruise ships and merchant vessels. Let us show you how:

  1. Enroll in a Maritime Hospitality Course: You can pursue a maritime hospitality program accredited by DG Shipping (India) or equivalent international bodies. HIMT and AMET offer such programs.
  2. STCW Requirements: Fulfill the STCW safety training (as required for all dangerous goods personnel).
  3. Search for Cruise Ship Jobs: Find steward, housekeeping, or galley assistant positions via reputable shipping companies or Federally accredited agencies.
  4. Medical and Passport: Make sure that you pass a maritime medical and hold a valid passport.
