Hi,

To join the Merchant Navy after Class 12, you must choose a course approved by the Directorate General Of Shipping.

• DNS
• B. Sc . Nautical Science
• Marine Engineering

Admission is based on a valid IMU-CET score, Medical fitness and clearing eye sight standards,.

After clearing IMU-CET, you can apply to top DG-approved Insitutes and attend counselling or sponsorship exams conducted by shipping companies.

Once selected, you undergo training, complete sea time and then qualify for higher ranks.
