MA linguistic is highly specialized course. Unless you are very serious about MA linguistic. You better think of other courses. Now talking about the preparation for entrance exam, entrance test would certainly include question on grammar, phonetic, phonology, morphology, logical reasoning etc. Questio paper of last year as model you can prepare on those lines
