You must have heard many ways to clear these examinations.I would advise you to follow the method which suits you the best.
In my opinion, Firstly prepare a detailed syllabus.After that,go through the theory part very carefully and try to understand the concepts involved.
Then,follow a prescribed book and solve a lot of questions.
Practice will eventually make you perfect.
Understand the chapters where you're weak in and try to go through them again.Also,solve questions pertaining to them and do the needful.
