Now when it comes to approaching mechanics from a JEE's point of view, the single most important thing is practice. While it is important to know all the formulae, it is equally important to know the conditions under which they can be applied. Knowing the derivations would give you a better understanding of the working of the formulae itself and will also help you in figuring out how and where they must be applied.
