Excelling at CS is not that difficult, don't worry,  first of all if you are at initial stage you should start reading CS by some basic books like susmita arora and read it with concentration and only reading will not suffice as CS is mainly about programming so it's a totally practical subject,  you should 1st go through solved programming problems and then you should do unsolved programmes and not only solve but do run in laptop as well , it will make it interesting and you will never get bored , even if you don't have laptop you can do basic programmes on your mobile using apps like turbo c++ etc . So , practise is the key and if you kept learning,  you are bound to master it.
