Year gaps can make difference initially after graduation or post graduation when you are looking for jobs. It's pivotal for recruiters to understand what & why you had that gap year in your profile. They will ask you questions upon why this happened & in some cases they will reject one's application. It won't matter much after you have secured your first job & provide value to your firm. If you can provide value to people then people will not bother much about one's gap year.
