So with a 73 percentile in JEE Mains 2025, your approximate All India Rank would be somewhere around 2.7 to 3 lakh. Now, this rank might not be enough for admission into NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs through the usual rounds, since those typically close for general category students by around the 90–95 percentile mark. But that doesn’t mean you’re out of good options.
There are quite a few well-known private universities and state-level colleges that accept students with percentiles in the 60–75 range. Colleges like LPU, SRM, Amity, and Galgotias usually consider these scores, and many of them also offer direct admission or have their own entrance pathways. You might also want to look into KIIT or VIT, especially if you’re open to considering branches like IT or ECE, which tend to have slightly more flexibility in seat availability compared to CSE.
A lot of students in your percentile range have ended up doing well at these universities, especially if they focus on projects, internships, and campus placements. Also, if you're open to different cities or states, it’ll definitely increase your chances of landing in a better institute with your preferred branch.
