The eligibility criteria for NIFT 2019 is Successfully completed or appearing for 10+2 qualifying examination or equivalent from any recognized Board.

NIFT needs a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in 10+2 from a recognised board. Students from any stream can apply for the exam! NIFT also provides a total of 32 exam centres all over India, so you can elect your preferred exam centre according to your state.

Eligiblty criteria for B.des at nift-

Class 12 exam from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education/State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

Thus you can apply for admission at NIFT in B.des, although you can not apply for admission at NIFT in Bftech. Since only students who have passed out class 12th with physics, chemistry and maths as a compulsory subject are eligible for it.
