You would require 8 weeks for consideration and preparing well enough. You should devote 4 weeks for full preparation and solve weekly mock exams. After that devoting 1week for mock tests for each section, and then 1week for all sections together. You would need to correct and recrify mistakes and weaknesses should be focussed. In the end, just revision and more mock exams will help you alot. You should sokve more problems from bokks lkke Arun Sharma, RS agarwal, Chandresh agarwal. Try to give mock tests every week and revise them frequently to avoid mistakes. First of all you need to devote most of your time in preparation from now. Go in the following manner-

1) Prepare the basic concepts from all areas and solve basic questions followed by advanced one.
2) Once you have completed these you should be able to recognise your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Give mocks tests and analyse your performance.
4) Prepare again for your weak areas which are identified by mock CATs.

All the Best!

Hi Abhishek. Starting from scratch is a little difficult right now. But it's not impossible. You need to practice asuch as you can. Start giving mock tests and give asany as you can. It will help you manage your time. It will also give you an idea of areas you are weak in and so you can work and concentrate on those areas. Mock tests will help you understand where you stand and give you an idea how much you will have to work. All the best.

See starting from scratch with less than 2 months left is a little hard task. If you are already good with basic maths like sets, probability, P&C, geometry, Alzebra, quadratic etc. And also your English is good then you can bruse up your basics and start giving lots of online mock test which will help you in overcoming your mistakes and come up with a strategy to attempt your paper which will definitely help you in improving your marks and percentile.

If you are not comfortable in any of the area then start practising quant questions from books like Arun Sharma which is pretty good and read lots of English novels, newspaper to catch up with the pattern of writting. Along with this still you need to give micj tests and analyse them. In such a short time of if you are able to properly click with mock test it can really help you in your final exam and with mock tests and predicted percentile you will also be able to judge your position.

All the best for your preparations and exams!!

See you have an average academic background so getting into top IIMs will be difficult because quite a lot weightage is given to academic background. So if you are able to score a high percentile like above 97+ there will be a good probability of you to getting a call and convert it into New IIMs. Also you can target top schools like FMS which gives 0 weightage to academic background but for FMS you need to score above 99.7 percentile because 85% weightage is given to CAT marks. Also you can attempt many other exams which are personally conducted by good colleges separately like IIFT, NMAT for Narsee Monjee, SNAP for symbiosis. By scoring above 95 percentile you will also have a good chance of converting in good IITs.

See in short score a high percentile which will help you in covering the loss of marks due to avg. academic records and get a new IIM or IIT or some reputated private college as I mentioned above.
