I am a NIOS student. Scoring 86.5% in class 12 from NIOS board. So am I eligible to apply for CAT examination?

Yes you are definitely eligible for CAT as the eligibility criteria is you need to be a graduate with at least 50 % marks in graduation. There is a 5% relaxation if you are from any category.

Hi Sona,

There is no mention of any board to apply for CAT. IIMs consider the marks in 12th standard in the final selection list, not the board. So, NIOS board shouldn’t be a problem. You can apply for CAT after Graduation. As per the official CAT minimum eligibility criteria, a candidate should be graduate with minimum 50% percent marks or equivalent CGPA and 45% for SC, ST, PWD to apply. Even final year student can apply for the exam.
