Hey,

As you are in your bsc part 1 mathematics and have passed 12th in 2016,I am assuming that you took two drop years. So,I would suggest you to be highly motivated first of all and develop your interest areas.Focus on developing skills in your college years along with academics.Gain knowledge of subjects other than mathematics too like python or may be data sciences.Currently ,in the first year you would be having quite easy topics like algebra, calculus, etc but do not take your course to be an easy one because now on you will have analysis  and group theory type of papers which will be really understanding based. Therefore,I would highly suggest that develop the habit of learning things logically and not memory-wise.This is important also because this will be counted as a skill on your resume when you will be applying for jobs as well.

have faith in yourself and be consistent towards your work.

Hope this helps.
