I am currently studying in class 12 do I have to give common aptitude test to get admission in central universities for UG courses?

Hi.
No you do not need to give CAT Exam for admission into UG Courses in a government college.
The Common Admission Test is a computer based test for admission in a graduate management program.
The entrance exam for govt. colleges depends upon the course you wish to get enrolled into, such as, if you want to pursue engineering then you need give JEE Mains exam, if you want to pursue medical sciences then you need give NEET Exam and so on.

I am a humanities student and as per latest news it is said that to get admission in DU we have to pass the common aptitude test for UG courses

Hi. That is not a generalised CAT, if there is such a news then it is limited to DU Admission Process only. DU is independent to conduct whatever test it find necessary for students taking in admission in UG courses in DU. However, wait for official DU Guidelines before believing this news.
